Garlic on Silk. This piece of orange and ochre coloured
silk fabric has found its way into many of my still life paintings... I wish it was larger, because I would probably sew it into a fun skirt or blouse. But since it is only a small remnant of material, I am content to brighten up my day by using it as a backdrop in some of my paintings. Besides, I think it makes the fruits and vegetables feel special when they are placed on it... why keep it all for myself.
The
garlic seemed to glow with delight when they were arranged on it... simple pleasures.
