Inner Beauty VIII: White Swirl, by Canadian Artist Kim Blair

I am enjoying painting white calla lilies... this is my third calla painting in the last week.  Callas have a calming presence... an understated elegance and beauty.  The simple lines of the trumpet shaped flower swirling and catching the light have an ethereal quality.  Like a little black dress, the calla can be dressed up or down, and is always worth purchasing for almost any occasion.

This is a truly elegant painting. You captured the curves and depth in the lilly.

This one is my favorite (so far)...love how you really nailed the light, the swirls, the perspective, and all the colors in the white cala lily!

Beautiful painting...w8th the creamy texture of the paint you have captured the supple feeling of the petal. I love the depth in the center of the lily...just exquisite!

I just love it! Your work is really beautiful. White is such a challenge and you handled all the wonderful color that happens to white as it turns into shadow and out into light so so well. There are so many gorgeous colors in white. Sounds funny to say. White is a mirror for all color in the spectrum and you captured it quietly. Very nice.
