Floral Still Life Painting, Red Gold, by Canadian Artist Kim Blair

This is the time of year when amaryllis bulbs start showing up in garden centers, and other stores.  Usually I try to purchase a bulb that promises to be a rich red, but sometimes my 'choice' turns out to be another colour... you can't always believe the label.  This year I am going to be adventurous and purchase 2 bulbs, a red one plus another colour ... I know that sounds rather decadent, but they are a calorie-free indulgence! (Hmmm.... maybe I have room for 3.)

Don't know which painting I like best, this one or the close up? Both have great saturated reds. Very nice, Kim.
