The better title for this painting would be, 'Foot Lights... and Ten Years Younger!'  The green/yellow glow on my face reminds me of the affect that foot lights (from the 1800s) had on stage performers' skin colour.  Toulouse Lautrec enjoyed portraying this effect on his subjects... and I enjoy Toulouse Lautrec's work, so this portrait is a bit of a nod to his colour choices.

The 'Ten Years Younger,' is a bit of artistic license showing up... unintentionally of course ;)

A few months ago I listened to a podcast interview of a portrait painter who offered her prospective clients the optional incentive that she could/would "Take off ten years, ten pounds and whiten their teeth!"

Airbrushing is alive and well...
