Poised

One more 'hot' red pepper painting to help warm us up over the Holiday Season...

This will be my last posting till after the Holidays. I will be posting again in the new year... starting on January 5, 2009.
Happy Holidays everyone.

Red Pears are so festive... rich in colour with an elegant 'Old World' feel.  As a friend said "They go well with a slice of sharp old cheese and a glass of wine."

SOLD
8x8 oil, ready to hang.

Freesia

Freesia are one of my favourite flowers...their fragrance reminds me of fresh fruit salad...

We received a  lovely bouquet of them as a gift and their scent drew (pun intended) me to paint them the next day.  This colour combination is more along the lines of complementary colours on the Munsell Colour Wheel, rather than the traditional colour wheel...

SOLD
7x9, oil on narrow profile canvas, ready to hang.

Red Boats

This is the last one in my red pepper reflection series (for a while anyway).

8x8, oil on narrow profile canvas

Being new to blogging I have been forgetting to put the information regarding cost etc. in this section, if you were wondering about the cost of any of my other paintings please check out my blog site for the list of posts.  At the end of the recent postings on my blog site you will see the highlighted text 'older posts' click there to have a peek at them also.

Foiled Patterns

Another in the series of red peppers on tin foil.  This composition was placed on foil that was a bit smoother in texture than the one posted a few days ago called 'Foiled Reflections'.  These peppers look like they are curled up on a sofa talking to each other...

SOLD
8x8 oil on narrow profile canvas, ready to hang.

Cinderella

A friend of mine collects (& wears) gorgeous shoes.  She kindly agreed to share some of them with me for painting inspiration... This fabulous purple pair has so much personality... can't you just imagine the story this shoe could tell!

SOLD
8x8 oil on narrow profile canvas, (still wet)

Pastel Light

I have had a few people ask me if I have any floral paintings for sale.  So I thought that I would post this larger painting of a Stargazer Lily.  The medium looks like it could be pastels but I used oil paint...

SOLD
20x16 oil on narrow profile canvas, ready to hang

Complements

These peppers drew my attention with their complementary colours (red & green) and their exaggerated bulbous shapes... almost 'Tim Burtonish'.
NFS
oil on wide profile canvas, ready to hang.

Trio

More mushrooms... teal and rusty orange seem to go so well together.  I think these are Martha Stewart colours...  (or maybe that should be soft blue and brown for Martha)  What are the chances that she would buy this painting for herself for Christmas?  One can only dream...

NFS
8x8 oil, on wide profile canvas, ready to hang.

Between

Complementary colours (opposite colours on the colour wheel) create a great visual vibration. Peppers are unusual in that they are one of the few forms of produce that come in such a variety of shapes and colours...they are all so unique. Stay tuned for more pepper views...

SOLD
oil on narrow profile canvas, ready to hang.

Bagged

Mushrooms remind me of people...as they age they become more interesting!

SOLD
8x10 oil, on narrow profile canvas, ready to hang.
